The MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC SEZ-KD15NA4R1 is a low static ducted horizontal indoor unit rated at 15,000 BTU/h, designed for use in ceiling-mounted ductless or ducted mini-split heat pump systems. It functions as the indoor air handler in a split-system configuration, circulating conditioned air through connected ductwork while managing both heating and cooling. The unit incorporates a hot start function that delays fan operation until the heat exchanger reaches an adequate temperature, preventing cold drafts during heating startup. An internal condensate lift mechanism handles drainage without an external pump, lifting condensate up to 21.6875 inches. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and service of this equipment.
This air handler is designed for residential and light commercial ceiling-mounted applications where low-profile ductwork integration is required. It is well suited for spaces where a concealed installation is preferred over a wall-mounted or cassette-style unit. The unit supports dry mode operation, during which the coil temperature is maintained just below the dew point of return air to remove excess moisture without overcooling the space. This makes it appropriate for humid climates or applications where humidity control is a priority alongside temperature management.
Designed as an OEM indoor unit for use with compatible SZ and MZ series outdoor condensing units in Mitsubishi Electric mini-split heat pump systems. Verify outdoor unit compatibility against Mitsubishi Electric engineering data before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable mechanical codes and the manufacturer's installation manual. Power down and lock out all electrical circuits before servicing the unit or making refrigerant connections. Ensure the ceiling structure can support the weight and dimensions of the unit and that ductwork static pressure requirements are within the rated operating range of this low static unit. Condensate drain lines should be pitched and routed per local plumbing and mechanical codes to prevent overflow.
