The MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC pva-aa42nl is a 42,000 BTU multi-position ducted air handler designed for single-zone ductwork systems operating with R454B refrigerant. The unit houses a totally enclosed ECM motor for high efficiency airflow management and features 1 inch R4.2 fiberglass-free insulation to reduce condensation and support overall system efficiency. A positive pressure cabinet construction limits air leakage to less than 1.0% at 1.0 inches water gauge, keeping conditioned air on target. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit in residential and light commercial applications where a ducted forced-air solution is required for a single outdoor unit configuration.
The pva-aa42nl supports multi-position installation including horizontal left, horizontal right, vertical up, and vertical down orientations, giving installers flexibility in tight or unconventional mechanical spaces. For downflow configurations, use of the CMA-1 accessory is recommended to properly manage condensate and prevent water blow-off. The unit is rated suitable for light commercial applications such as small offices, restaurants, and retail spaces. Multiple control options are available including wired and wireless controllers, third-party interfaces, and the Mitsubishi comfort app for remote access. An optional electric heat kit can be added for supplemental heat capacity. Optional humidifier and ERV control are also supported.
Designed as an OEM single-zone ducted air handler pairing with one compatible outdoor unit to condition a single zone. Compatible with R454B refrigerant systems. The CMA-1 condensate management accessory is recommended for downflow installations. Optional electric heat kit, humidifier control, and ERV control accessories are supported.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with ducted mini-split or multi-split air handler systems. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power and isolate the refrigerant circuit before beginning any service or installation work. Confirm the selected static pressure setting and fan speed match the duct system design prior to startup. For downflow configurations, install the CMA-1 accessory as directed in the manufacturer documentation to prevent condensate blow-off.
