The MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC plfy-el24nemu-a is a 24,000 BTU/h (24 MBH) 4-way ceiling-recessed cassette designed for Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems operating on R-454B refrigerant. The unit mounts flush into a standard ceiling grid with a 33 x 33 inch panel footprint and distributes conditioned air in four directions simultaneously, providing even coverage across the occupied space. It is rated A2L compatible, meaning it is engineered to work safely with mildly flammable next-generation refrigerants. Licensed HVAC technicians familiar with VRF system commissioning and A2L refrigerant handling are the appropriate installers for this equipment.
This cassette is part of the City-Multi VRF product line and is suited for light commercial and multi-zone residential applications where concealed, low-profile indoor units are required. Typical installations include conference rooms, hotel guest rooms, retail spaces, and open-plan offices where ceiling plenum space is available. The 4-way discharge pattern makes it well matched for square or near-square room layouts where a central ceiling installation can reach all four zones of the room without supplemental diffusers.
Designed for use with Mitsubishi Electric City-Multi VRF heat pump systems using R-454B refrigerant. Consult the outdoor unit and system documentation to confirm compatible outdoor unit pairings and branch controller requirements before ordering.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician certified to handle A2L refrigerants in accordance with applicable local codes and manufacturer guidelines. De-energize all associated VRF outdoor and indoor units before making refrigerant, electrical, or drain connections. Ceiling structural support for the cassette body must be independently verified before mounting, as the indoor unit hangs from threaded rods above the ceiling plane and cannot rely solely on the ceiling grid for support. Refrigerant leak detection procedures appropriate for A2L-class refrigerants should be followed during and after commissioning.
