The MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC mxz-3d24nlhz-u1 is a multi-zone Hyper-Heating INVERTER outdoor condensing unit rated at 22,000 BTU/h and designed for use with R454B refrigerant. The inverter-driven compressor modulates output continuously to match the precise heating or cooling load, reducing energy cycling and maintaining tighter temperature control within 1 degree F of the set point. Seacoast-rated corrosion protection on the heat exchanger and base panel meets ASTM B117 testing standards at 2,000 hours, making this unit suitable for installations near salt-air environments. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and commissioning.
This outdoor unit is built for residential and light-commercial multi-zone split system applications where variable-capacity performance is required across multiple indoor air handlers. The Hyper-Heating INVERTER technology delivers 100% heating capacity at 5 degrees F ambient and maintains 75% heating capacity at -13 degrees F ambient, extending reliable operation through severe winter conditions. A built-in base pan heater prevents ice accumulation at the drain, and the unit operates at sound levels comparable to a typical conversation, supporting installs in noise-sensitive locations.
Designed as an OEM multi-zone outdoor unit for use with compatible Mitsubishi Electric mini-split indoor air handlers in a zoned system configuration; consult the product submittal sheet for approved indoor unit pairings.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608-certified HVAC technician familiar with R454B refrigerant handling procedures. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the system before making any wiring or refrigerant connections. Follow all applicable local mechanical and electrical codes, including NEC requirements for disconnect placement and circuit sizing. Do not operate the unit below the published minimum ambient temperature limits without verifying that low-ambient controls are active.
