The MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC MUZ-GX24NL-U1 is a 24,000 BTU/h inverter-driven heat pump outdoor unit designed for split-system heating and cooling applications. It operates on R-454B refrigerant and uses a variable-speed inverter compressor to modulate output capacity continuously, maintaining the target setpoint without the energy losses associated with single-stage on/off cycling. The outdoor unit also supplies power to the paired indoor unit, and the system includes automatic restart functionality following a power interruption. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and commissioning of this equipment.
This outdoor unit is intended for residential and light-commercial ductless or ducted split-system configurations where precise temperature control and corrosion resistance are priorities. The Blue Fin anti-corrosion coating on the heat exchanger aluminum fins makes it well suited for coastal environments, industrial areas, and other locations where airborne salt, sulfur, or chemical contaminants would otherwise accelerate fin degradation. It pairs with a compatible Mitsubishi Electric indoor air handler or ducted indoor unit to form a complete heating and cooling system.
Designed as an OEM outdoor unit for use in Mitsubishi Electric split-system heat pump configurations requiring a 24,000 BTU/h outdoor section with R-454B refrigerant. Consult Mitsubishi Electric submittal documentation to confirm compatible indoor unit pairings before ordering.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified HVAC technician due to the refrigerant handling requirements of R-454B. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the system before making any electrical or refrigerant connections. Follow local mechanical and electrical codes, including NEC requirements for disconnect sizing and wire gauge, and observe the manufacturer's minimum clearance specifications for the outdoor unit placement. Do not mix refrigerant types or reuse recovered refrigerant without proper reclaim processing.
