The MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC muz-gx09nlhz-u1 is a 9,000 BTU/h ductless mini split heat pump outdoor unit designed for residential heating and cooling applications. It operates on R454B refrigerant and uses an inverter-driven compressor to deliver variable-capacity performance across a wide range of outdoor temperatures. The unit is equipped with Hyper-Heating INVERTER (H2i) technology, maintaining 100% heating capacity down to 5 degrees F and guaranteed heating operation down to -22 degrees F. A licensed HVAC technician handles installation, commissioning, and refrigerant work on this equipment.
This outdoor unit pairs with a compatible Mitsubishi Electric indoor air handler in a single-zone ductless configuration. It is suited for residential spaces where a ducted system is impractical or where zoned climate control is required. The unit is engineered for cold-climate performance, making it a practical choice for northern regions, mountain installations, and other sites that experience sustained sub-freezing temperatures. Its Blue Fin Coating on the outdoor heat exchanger fins also makes it suitable for coastal and light industrial environments where airborne corrosion is a concern.
Designed for use as the outdoor unit in a single-zone Mitsubishi Electric ductless mini split system. Confirm indoor unit model compatibility with Mitsubishi Electric submittal documentation before installation, as matched system pairing is required for proper operation and warranty coverage.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified HVAC technician, as this unit contains regulated refrigerant. Follow all local mechanical codes and manufacturer clearance requirements when siting and mounting the outdoor unit. Power down the system at the disconnect and the indoor unit before making any electrical or refrigerant connections. Do not leave the refrigerant circuit open to atmosphere during service or installation.
