The MITSUBISHI 697047 is a carbide extra length drill bit engineered for high-performance and high-precision drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. It measures 0.5512 inches (14.00 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 5.3740 inches and a flute length of 2.8543 inches. The 140-degree split point with X-thinning geometry reduces thrust and improves centering at entry. A TiAlN coating protects the cutting edge at elevated temperatures, extending tool life in hard and abrasive materials. This bit is part of the MVS series and features a right-hand helical flute with a parallel web configuration and coolant-through capability for effective chip evacuation in deep-hole work.
This drill bit is suited for cross hole drilling, stack drilling, and standard drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloys, brass, bronze, high-strength bronze, carbon steel, tempered steel, hardened steel, cast iron, structural steel, superalloys, titanium, copper, and iron. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and maximum drilling depth of 1.7520 inches make it appropriate for production environments where tool rigidity and hole quality are critical. It is typically used by machinists and maintenance technicians working with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines in commercial and industrial settings.
Designed for use in applications involving cross hole drilling, stack drilling, and general drilling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, carbon steel, tempered steel, hardened steel, structural steel, superalloys, and titanium. The cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.5512-inch shank diameter.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with cutting tool safety practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the bit. Verify the chuck or collet is properly torqued to the tool holder before operation. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable OSHA standards for cutting speeds, feeds, and coolant delivery when using carbide tooling.
