The MITSUBISHI 696992 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for high-performance and high-precision drilling applications in metalworking environments. With a 0.5315 inch cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and an X-thinned point geometry, it delivers clean entry and reduced thrust force in tough materials. The TiAlN coating enhances heat resistance and wear life during extended cutting cycles. At 5.3740 inches overall length with a 2.7559 inch helical flute, this bit is suited for reaching deeper features that standard-length drills cannot access. It is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job shop environments.
The 696992 is designed for cross hole drilling, stack drilling, and standard drilling operations. Its coolant-through design delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip, making it effective in applications where heat buildup is a concern. Primary workpiece material is steel, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, structural steel, tempered steel, cast iron, hardened steel, carbon steel, brass, bronze, high strength bronze, copper, aluminum, and aluminum alloy. The right-hand helical flute and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC and manual drill press setups. Flute-to-diameter ratio is 3xD with a maximum drilling depth of 1.6929 inches.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses capable of accepting a 0.5512 inch cylindrical shank. Suitable for cross hole, stack drilling, and through-hole drilling operations across steel and non-ferrous workpiece materials as specified by the MVS series application ratings.
This drill bit is installed and operated by machinists in accordance with the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the bit from the tool holder. Ensure the cylindrical shank is fully seated and clamped to the proper runout specification for the holder in use. Coolant-through lines should be verified clear before beginning the cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
