The MITSUBISHI 694170 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit designed for high-performance deep hole drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to MVS Series specifications, this drill bit features a 140-degree point angle with X-Thinning geometry, a TiAlN coating for thermal resistance and tool life, and a helical flute configuration. The cutting diameter is 0.6250 inches (5/8 inch), with a flute length of 5.154 inches and an overall length of 7.712 inches. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat management during extended-depth operations. The right-hand spiral and two-flute design optimize chip flow in deep bore applications.
This drill bit is suited for machining alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, hardened steel, tempered steel, cast iron, nickel alloys, superalloys, titanium, copper, brass, bronze, and high-strength bronze. Rated for cross hole drilling, stack drilling, and deep hole drilling applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports maximum drilling depths up to 3.239 inches. Suitable for CNC machining centers and precision drilling operations in aerospace, tooling, and general metalworking environments where tight tolerances and high feed rates are required.
The 694170 is rated for deep hole drilling, cross hole drilling, stack drilling, and general drilling operations in alloy steel, steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, structural steel, tempered steel, nickel alloy, nickel, iron, high-strength bronze, hardened steel, copper, cast iron, carbon steel, bronze, and brass. Material Grade 1020 designation per ISO specification.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with solid carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and properly torqued before mounting. Verify coolant-through lines are active before beginning deep hole cuts to prevent thermal damage to the tool. Never run solid carbide tooling in a worn or out-of-balance spindle, as vibration will cause premature tool failure.
