The MITSUBISHI 691059 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and high-temperature alloy applications. Measuring 6 mm in diameter with a 24 mm length of cut and a 60 mm overall length, this single-end tool features four flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry. The variable helix angle, ranging from 38 to 40 degrees, disrupts harmonic chatter during cutting, improving surface finish and tool stability. An AlCrN coating provides high-temperature oxidation resistance and hardness, extending tool life in abrasive and heat-generating cuts. This tool is part of the MITSUBISHI VQ Endmill VHQJHV series and is sized in the metric system.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces classified under ISO material codes P and M, as well as aluminum and non-ferrous materials (code N) and high-temperature alloys (code S). It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a straight shank and falls into the medium length category. Typical applications include slot milling, peripheral milling, and contour milling on CNC machining centers in job shop and production environments. The 6 mm shank diameter matches the 6 mm cutter diameter, making it straightforward to chuck in standard collet systems.

This end mill is installed by a machinist or tooling technician into a compatible collet or end mill holder sized for a 6 mm shank, with shank diameter tolerance of h6. Confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked or e-stopped state before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool to ensure concentricity within acceptable limits for the operation. Because this tool is not center-cutting, ramping or helical interpolation entry strategies are required when plunging into a closed pocket.
