The MITSUBISHI 668051 is a carbide extra-length drill bit engineered for high-performance and high-precision drilling applications. Measuring 0.2047 inches (5.20 mm) in diameter with a 140-degree split point and TiAlN coating, this bit delivers superior heat resistance and edge retention in demanding production environments. The helical, two-flute design with X-thinning web geometry reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability supports deep-hole drilling at extended cycle rates. At 3.9724 inches overall length with a 1.7677-inch flute length, it is built for reach in tight or stacked workpiece applications. This is a tool for machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC setup professionals.
The 668051 is suited for cross-hole drilling, stack drilling, and standard through-hole operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. It performs in production and job-shop environments where consistent hole quality and tool life are priorities. The MVS Series designation indicates a high-performance platform optimized for steel and multi-material setups. Maximum drilling depth is 1.0591 inches (26.90 mm). The cylindrical shank diameter of 0.2362 inches (6.00 mm) seats in standard collets and drill chucks without adapters.
Designed for use with steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, tempered steel, hardened steel, cast iron, structural steel, carbon steel, high-strength bronze, bronze, brass, copper, aluminum, and aluminum alloy workpieces. Compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks accepting a 0.2362-inch (6.00 mm) cylindrical shank. Part of the Mitsubishi MVS Series extra-length drill platform.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify coolant-through passages are unobstructed and system pressure is appropriate for the material and drilling depth before initiating the cut. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated maximum drilling depth of 1.0591 inches per cycle without retracting to clear chips.
