The MITSUBISHI 663103 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. The bit measures 0.1250 inches (1/8 inch) in diameter with a 140-degree split point and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions. The helical flute geometry and X-thinning web design reduce cutting forces and improve chip evacuation. At 3.448 inches overall length with a 1.638-inch flute length, this bit reaches depths where standard-length drills fall short. It is part of the MVS Series, engineered for high-performance and high-precision work by machinists and tooling professionals.
This bit is suited for deep hole drilling, cross hole drilling, stack drilling, and through-hole operations in alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, brass, bronze, copper, nickel, nickel alloys, superalloys, titanium, tempered steel, hardened steel, and high-strength bronze. The cylindrical shank diameter is 0.2362 inches, compatible with standard precision chucks and collet holders used in CNC machining centers and drill presses. Maximum drilling depth is 1.024 inches, and the flute-to-diameter ratio is 8xD, making it appropriate for deeper bores relative to drill diameter.
The 663103 is rated for primary use in alloy steel (ISO material code P) and is also compatible with steel, stainless steel, structural steel, tempered steel, hardened steel, superalloys, titanium, nickel, nickel alloys, iron, cast iron, carbon steel, brass, bronze, copper, and high-strength bronze (ISO material codes M, S, H, K).
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the cylindrical shank fully in a precision collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing tooling. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm coolant pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the machine tool and workpiece material before beginning the cut.
