The MITSUBISHI 662661 is a carbide extra length drill bit designed for high-performance and high-precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 0.2570 inch cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle with X-thinning geometry, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life under high heat and friction. The helical flute design and right-hand cutting direction promote efficient chip evacuation. With an overall length of 3.5110 inches and a flute length of 1.4250 inches, this bit is suited for reaching into deeper bore locations where standard-length tooling falls short. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working in production or job-shop environments.
This drill bit is built for cross hole drilling, stack drilling, and general drilling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. Primary material targets include steel and stainless steel. The bit also performs in superalloys, titanium, tempered steel, hardened steel, cast iron, carbon steel, structural steel, high-strength bronze, brass, copper, aluminum, and aluminum alloys. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports stable cutting at controlled depths. The cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet systems.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet toolholders accepting a 0.315 inch cylindrical shank. Part of the Mitsubishi MVS series. Suitable for CNC machining centers and drilling machines used in production metalworking on ISO material groups P, M, K, and N.
Installation and setup should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the bit from the toolholder. Verify shank seating and runout before beginning a cut. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed when working with carbide tooling.
