The MITSUBISHI 662522 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to MVE Series specifications, it features a TiAlN coating, a 140-degree drill point angle with X-Thinning, and a right-hand helical flute geometry. The bit measures 0.4219 inches (27/64 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 3.8170 inches and a flute length of 1.9290 inches. The parallel web configuration and cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard toolholding setups. This bit is sold individually and is intended for use by machinists and tooling technicians working in precision machining environments.
This drill bit is suited for cross-hole drilling, stack drilling, and general through-drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, hardened steel, cast iron, carbon steel, brass, bronze, copper, nickel alloy, superalloys, and titanium. Its 2xD flute-to-diameter ratio and maximum drilling depth of 0.9230 inches support controlled chip evacuation and consistent hole quality in tight-tolerance production setups. The TiAlN finish extends tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials at elevated speeds. Typical applications include structural steel fabrication, aerospace component drilling, and precision metalworking where hole accuracy and surface finish are critical.
Designed for use in standard cylindrical-shank toolholding systems. Suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped to accept a 0.472-inch cylindrical shank. Rated for drilling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, cast iron, hardened steel, carbon steel, brass, bronze, copper, and nickel alloys per ISO specification.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked. Seat the cylindrical shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or drill chuck before tightening to manufacturer toolholder specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production drilling to maintain hole tolerance. Coolant-through is not supported on this model; external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied in accordance with shop practice for the workpiece material.
