The MITSUBISHI 645386 is a DNMG433MA VP15TF carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, a 3/64 inch corner radius, and a 3/16 inch insert thickness. The VP15TF grade uses an AlTiN PVD coating engineered to deliver moderate wear resistance with high toughness. With four usable cutting edges and a negative rake geometry, this insert is suited for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloy and titanium workpieces. It is installed and serviced by CNC machinists and turning specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for medium machining operations including turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring. The MA chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-depth chip control across a range of feed rates. It performs across material grades P15 through P35, M15 through M35, K15 through K35, and S10 through S30, covering a broad spectrum of workpiece materials common in general machining, aerospace, and automotive applications. The insert is held using a clamp and pin method, compatible with standard DNMG toolholders. Each package contains one insert and is sold in minimum order quantities of 10.
Designed for use in standard DNMG toolholders with clamp and pin insert holding systems. ANSI insert code DNMG433 and ISO insert code DNMG150412 (ISO code DNMG150412-MA). Suitable for multi-use turning applications across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloy and titanium workpiece materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist following the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for DNMG clamp and pin systems. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all axes are at a safe position before indexing or replacing inserts. Verify the insert seat and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Follow applicable workplace safety standards for handling carbide cutting tools.
