Product Description

The MITSUBISHI 461536 is a DCGT-style carbide turning insert carrying the manufacturer grade HTi10 and chip breaker designation AZ. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape, a 0.016-inch corner radius, and a positive rake geometry with positive side clearance. The insert is uncoated (bright finish) with a honed cutting edge, making it well suited for finishing and medium machining operations on non-ferrous metals and cast iron. With two available cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, it fits standard screw-clamping toolholders. Weight is 0.05 pounds per piece.

This insert is designed for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications. Its HTi10 grade delivers high wear resistance to moderate wear resistance and toughness, covering cast iron (ISO K) and aluminum and non-ferrous (ISO N) workpiece materials. It is a practical choice for finishing passes where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities in both production and job-shop environments. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the typical end users.

Key Features

  • 55-degree diamond (DCGT) insert shape with positive rake and positive side clearance for low cutting forces
  • HTi10 carbide grade optimized for non-ferrous metals and cast iron with high wear resistance
  • AZ chip breaker geometry supports finishing and medium machining operations
  • Uncoated bright finish with honed cutting edge for sharp, consistent performance on aluminum and non-ferrous alloys
  • Two cutting edges per insert for extended tool economy
  • Compatible with screw-clamping insert holding method; neutral hand for flexible toolholder fitment

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for screw-clamp DCGT-style toolholders accepting a 55-degree diamond insert with a 0.25-inch inscribed circle. Conforms to ANSI insert code DCGT21.51 and ISO insert code DCGT070204.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque screwdriver for the insert clamping screw to avoid seat damage — refer to the toolholder manufacturer specification for torque value. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
