The MITSUBISHI 135079 is a CNMG432MS-style indexable turning insert manufactured in solid carbide with an Al2O3 and TiCN multilayer coating. It carries ANSI insert code CNMG432 and ISO insert code CNMG120408. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry suited to general and finish turning operations. With a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 3/16-inch insert thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius, this insert is designed for negative-rake toolholders using clamp or pin holding methods. Grade US7020 targets stainless steel (ISO material group M) applications, offering high to moderate wear resistance combined with adequate toughness for interrupted and continuous cuts.
This insert is well suited for turning stainless steel and other ISO M-group workpiece materials in both production and job-shop environments. Grade characteristics span high wear resistance to moderate wear resistance and toughness, making it a practical selection across a range of surface-speed and feed-rate conditions. The MS chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation during medium-depth turning passes. It is a standard choice for CNC lathes and manual engine lathes wherever CNMG432-series inserts are specified. Minimum order quantity is 10 pieces; each package contains 1 insert.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production insert for negative-rake CNMG432-style toolholders. Compatible with toolholders accepting ANSI insert code CNMG432 or ISO insert code CNMG120408 with clamp or pin retention. Material grade ratings C5 and C6 apply.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten the clamp screw, as this can fracture the insert. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
