The MITSUBISHI 111200 is a WNMG-style indexable carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual turning applications. Built to the ANSI size code 431 and ISO size code 080404, this insert features an 80-degree trigon shape with a neutral hand orientation and negative side clearance. The CVD-coated carbide substrate carries the US735 grade designation, engineered for moderate wear resistance and toughness when machining stainless steel and other ISO M-group workpiece materials. With six cutting edges per insert, it delivers extended tool life and consistent performance in finishing and light machining operations.
This insert is suited for finishing and light machining passes on stainless steel components in both production shop and job-shop environments. The SH chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation at lighter depths of cut and moderate feed rates typical of finishing work. It seats in WNMG-compatible turning toolholders and is commonly installed by machinists and CNC programmers handling M-group materials such as austenitic stainless steels. The 0.40 mm corner radius minimizes workpiece stress concentration while maintaining surface finish quality on turned features.
Designed for use in WNMG-style indexable turning toolholders accepting inserts with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, 3/16 inch thickness, and negative rake geometry. Primary workpiece material code M covers stainless steel and similar ISO M-group alloys.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench or insert key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the clamping screw — do not over-tighten by hand. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
