The MITSUBISHI 10579497 is a solid carbide square end mill from the M-Plus MP3MC series, designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch) cutting diameter is paired with a 1/4 inch straight shank, and the tool carries an AlTiCrN coating that provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. With a 3-flute helical geometry and a 30-degree helix angle, this end mill balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry, and is intended for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and precision CNC operators are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for precision milling operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces, as well as high-temp alloys and hardened materials in both production and job-shop environments. The medium-length geometry with a 0.3910 inch length of cut and 2.0000 inch overall length makes it appropriate for slotting, peripheral milling, and light profiling passes where rigidity and tool life in hard or abrasive materials are priorities. The 0.3910 inch neck length matches the length of cut, which supports reach into moderate-depth features without excessive deflection.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard 1/4 inch collet or end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials per ISO material codes P, M, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the collet to minimize runout and prevent pullout under cutting loads. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut being applied.
