The MITSUBISHI 10544150 is an extra-length carbide drill bit engineered for demanding hole-making applications in metal cutting environments. Built from solid carbide with a TiAlN finish, the bit delivers heat resistance and edge retention where standard-length tooling falls short. At 10.496 inches overall length with an 8.213-inch flute length, it provides the reach required for deep-hole drilling, cross-hole, and stack drilling operations. The 140-degree split point with X-thinning reduces thrust and improves centering at entry. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal control in high-feed cycles. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in metalworking shops are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This drill bit is suited for deep-hole drilling, cross-hole drilling, stack drilling, and general drilling operations. The 20xD flute-by-diameter ratio extends reach into deep bores. Its 0.3438-inch cutting diameter covers an 11/32-inch nominal hole size. Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, structural steel, tempered steel, iron, hardened steel, high-strength bronze, copper, cast iron, carbon steel, bronze, brass, aluminum, and aluminum alloy. Primary application is steel cutting. Right-hand cutting direction and helical right-hand spiral are standard for conventional CNC and manual drill press setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses capable of coolant-through delivery; compatible with toolholders accepting a 0.394-inch cylindrical shank. Suitable for the workpiece materials listed in the specifications section per MVS series design parameters.
This tool is intended for use by skilled machinists operating CNC equipment or manual drill presses with appropriate spindle speed and feed rate settings for carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the drill. Verify coolant-through supply pressure and flow before initiating deep-hole cycles to prevent chip packing. Do not use this bit in underpowered or non-rigid setups that cannot maintain consistent feed force, as carbide tooling is brittle and sensitive to lateral deflection.
