The MITSUBISHI 10543474 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for demanding precision drilling applications. It carries a TiAlN coating to extend tool life and resist heat at elevated cutting speeds. The drill measures 0.1406 inches (9/64 inch) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and X-Thinning point geometry that reduces thrust and improves centering accuracy. With an overall length of 4.8680 inches and a flute length of 2.8620 inches, the bit reaches depths that standard-length drills cannot. It is part of the MITSUBISHI MVS series and is installed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision manufacturing professionals working in metalworking environments.
This drill bit is suited for deep hole drilling, cross hole drilling, stack drilling, and through-hole work in materials ranging from aluminum and brass to hardened steel, stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel, superalloys, and titanium. The MVS series design supports coolant-through delivery, making it effective in CNC machining centers where through-spindle coolant is available. It is appropriate for both production and toolroom environments where hole depth-to-diameter ratios up to 15xD are required.
Compatible with steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, structural steel, tempered steel, hardened steel, iron, cast iron, carbon steel, high strength bronze, bronze, brass, copper, aluminum, and aluminum alloy workpiece materials. Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with cylindrical shank toolholding and, where applicable, through-spindle coolant capability.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the cylindrical shank in a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter of 0.236 inches before starting the machine. Power down the machine and confirm zero spindle rotation before changing or inspecting the bit. When using coolant-through capability, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate match machine and toolholder specifications before initiating the cut.
