The MITSUBISHI 10482247 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the MP2 Series, designed for high-precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 1.20 mm cutting diameter with a 0.60 mm nose radius and a 1.80 mm length of cut. The AlTiCrN coating, applied via PVD process, provides strong heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. With a 2-flute, right-hand spiral configuration and a 30-degree helix angle, this end mill suits both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals typically run this cutter on CNC machining centers for tight-tolerance slot and profile work.
This end mill is well suited for milling steel as its primary workpiece material. Secondary materials include stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and aluminum and non-ferrous metals. The short-length geometry and straight cylindrical shank (4.00 mm diameter, h5 tolerance) make it a practical choice for close-clearance cavities, mold work, and small-feature contouring where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical. It is a single-end, non-centercutting tool without chipbreaker geometry, extended reach, or coolant-through capability.
Designed as a metric-series replacement or direct-use ball end mill for CNC machining applications requiring a 4.00 mm straight shank and 1.20 mm cutting diameter; verify toolholder bore and runout specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC toolholder systems and collet chuck or shrink-fit procedures. Confirm shank-to-bore clearance and h5 tolerance compatibility with the selected toolholder before clamping. Power down the spindle and engage machine lock-out before changing tools. Do not exceed manufacturer feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and coating type.
