The MITEE-BITE 90145 is an irregular hex clamp designed for workholding applications where standard hex clamps cannot seat properly against non-uniform hex stock. It accepts hex sizes from 19 to 24mm and uses a 1/2-13 stud thread for positive engagement. The serrated edge surface bites into the workpiece to resist movement under cutting loads. Rated for 4,000 pounds of holding force and torqued to 65 ft/lb, this clamp is built for rigid fixturing on milling machines, machining centers, and similar CNC or manual setups. Machinists and tooling technicians are the primary installers.
This clamp is suited for production and job-shop environments where irregular or variable hex profiles must be held securely in a fixture. It is commonly used on horizontal and vertical machining centers when workholding calls for direct hex-stock clamping without custom soft jaws. The 0.394-inch hex height and 1-inch thread length make it appropriate for low-profile fixturing setups where clearance is limited.
Designed for use with standard 1/2-13 fixturing studs and T-slot tables accepting irregular hex workpieces in the 19 to 24mm range.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians familiar with workholding fixtures. Ensure the machine is powered down and the spindle is stopped before adjusting or repositioning any clamp. Torque the stud to 65 ft/lb using a calibrated torque wrench to achieve the rated holding force. Do not exceed the rated torque, as overloading the stud thread can reduce clamping integrity.
