The MITEE-BITE 90120 is an irregular hex clamp designed to secure hex-shaped workpieces during machining operations. It threads onto a 1/2-13 stud and applies clamping force directly against the flat faces of a hex fastener or hex stock. The clamp accommodates hex sizes from 7 to 12mm and delivers up to 4,000 pounds of holding force at 65 ft/lb of torque. The hex height measures 0.394 inches, keeping a low profile in the work envelope. The smooth edge surface reduces the risk of workpiece marring. Machinists and fixture builders use this clamp in CNC and manual milling setups where conventional jaw clamps cannot access the part geometry.
This clamp is suited for production and prototype machining environments where irregular or standard hex stock must be held rigidly without distortion. The 1-inch thread length provides adequate engagement depth on the stud to sustain full rated holding force. It is particularly useful in tombstone and pallet fixture layouts where low-profile, stud-mounted clamping is preferred to maximize spindle clearance and part access. The package quantity is one clamp per unit.
Designed for use with 1/2-13 studded fixture plates and tombstone setups where hex workpieces in the 7 to 12mm range require rigid, low-profile clamping.
Installation is performed by a machinist or fixture engineer. Thread the clamp onto a properly secured 1/2-13 stud and torque to 65 ft/lb using a calibrated torque wrench. Verify the workpiece is fully seated against the clamp faces before applying full torque. Always de-energize and lock out the machine before adjusting or removing clamps during setup changes.
