The MISSION RUBBER 802603 is a K Series shielded specialty coupling designed to join dissimilar pipe materials in drain, waste, and vent piping systems. It accommodates a 2-inch nominal pipe transitioning to either a 1-1/2-inch or 1-1/4-inch nominal pipe end, making it well suited for multi-material connections involving copper, plastic, and steel pipe. The shielded design provides full circumferential support at the joint, resisting separation and maintaining a leak-resistant seal under normal service conditions. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This coupling is rated for SCH 40 and standard-wall pipe applications and is manufactured domestically. It is commonly used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where transitions between pipe materials or sizes are required, such as connecting copper drain lines to PVC or ABS plastic pipe, or tying into existing steel drain runs. The end style accommodates copper, plastic, and steel pipe ends on either side of the joint.
Designed for use with 2-inch nominal pipe transitioning to 1-1/2-inch or 1-1/4-inch nominal pipe ends in copper, plastic, or steel, on SCH 40 and standard-wall systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Before beginning work, shut off water supply and ensure the pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and clean for proper gasket seating. Do not overtighten clamp bands, as this can distort the gasket and compromise the seal. Verify pipe outside diameter compatibility before installation, as nominal pipe size can vary by material and schedule.
