The MIRCOM TECHNOLOGIES MS404U is a 2-action, closed-circuit manual pull station finished in yellow. Pull stations are life-safety devices mounted on walls in commercial and residential buildings to allow occupants to manually trigger a fire alarm system. The 2-action design requires two distinct physical motions to activate, reducing the likelihood of accidental trips. The closed-circuit output keeps the alarm loop energized at rest and opens the circuit upon activation, which is the standard signaling method used with most conventional fire alarm control panels. Installation and inspection are performed by licensed fire alarm technicians.
This pull station is suited for use in commercial buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels, and multifamily residential properties wherever a manual initiating device is required by fire code. The yellow finish provides high-visibility identification on the wall surface, aiding occupant recognition in an emergency. It is sold individually as a single unit, making it practical for single-device replacements or phased installations.
Designed as an OEM-style manual initiating device for use with conventional closed-circuit fire alarm control panels requiring a 2-action pull station.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. De-energize the initiating device circuit at the fire alarm control panel before wiring the device. Mount at the height required by the authority having jurisdiction, typically between 42 and 48 inches above the finished floor. Do not restore power to the initiating device circuit until all wiring connections are verified and the device cover is secured.
