The Minwax 13614 is a premixed, non-hardening wood putty formulated in the Early American color to blend with Minwax Wood Finish Stains. The putty fills minor surface defects including small gouges, scratches, and nail holes in finished wood surfaces. Because it stays pliable after application, it resists cracking and shrinking over time. Woodworkers, finish carpenters, and general contractors reach for this product when touch-up work needs to match an existing Minwax stained finish without additional mixing or color matching on the job.
This wood putty is suited for interior finish carpentry and furniture repair where the existing stain color is Early American. Typical applications include nail hole filling on trim, baseboards, door casings, and cabinet faces after the final stain coat has been applied. The premixed, ready-to-use formula requires no preparation and works directly from the container. Each container holds 3.75 oz of putty, and units are packaged six per case.
Designed as a color-matched companion to Minwax Wood Finish Stains in the Early American color family, intended for use on pre-stained interior wood surfaces.
Application is typically performed by finish carpenters or painters after the stain coat has dried and before or after the topcoat, depending on the depth of the repair. Apply putty with a putty knife or a finger, pressing firmly into the defect and wiping flush with the surrounding surface. Allow the area to stabilize before applying any clear topcoat. Keep the container sealed when not in use to prevent the putty from drying out.
