The Minwax 13612 is a non-hardening, premixed wood putty formulated to repair minor surface imperfections in finished wood. It fills small gouges, scratches, and nail holes quickly without the need for mixing or preparation. The putty is color-matched to Minwax Wood Finish Stains in the Colonial Maple shade, allowing repairs to blend cleanly into already-stained or factory-finished wood surfaces. Each container holds 3.75 oz of ready-to-use putty. Carpenters, finish contractors, and millwork installers reach for this product when a fast, clean touch-up is needed on stained trim, furniture, cabinetry, or flooring.
This putty is suited for interior finish work where the existing wood has been stained with a Colonial Maple tone. Typical applications include filling fastener holes in trim boards, patching small surface dings in cabinets or furniture, and touching up minor damage to finished hardwood flooring. Because the putty does not harden, it remains workable and is best used on surfaces that are already coated or sealed. It is not intended for structural repairs or unfinished raw wood that will be stained after application.
Designed for use on wood surfaces previously finished with Minwax Wood Finish Stains in the Colonial Maple color family.
Application requires no special tools beyond a putty knife or a gloved fingertip. Clean the repair area of dust and loose material before applying. Work the putty into the void and wipe flush with the surrounding surface. Because the formula does not harden, avoid using this putty in areas subject to heavy abrasion or where a topcoat will be applied over bare, unfinished wood.
