The MINERALLAC 602b is a steel set screw beam clamp designed for securing threaded rod, bridal rings, and conduit hangers to structural steel beams. Built from 11-gauge steel with a zinc-plated finish, this flange clamp accepts beam flanges up to 3/4 inch wide and is rated for a 200-pound load capacity. The clamp body features 3/8 inch-16 tapped holes on both the bottom and back faces, giving installers flexible attachment points for threaded rod or hanger hardware. A case-hardened 5/16 inch-18 TPI by 1-3/8 inch set screw is supplied and tapped at an angle to positively lock the clamp onto the beam flange. This clamp is installed by licensed electricians and electrical contractors in commercial and industrial conduit support applications.
The 602b is suited for use in commercial and industrial electrical installations where conduit support systems attach to structural I-beams, H-beams, and similar flanged steel members. Typical applications include threaded rod drops for conduit trapeze hangers, bridal ring attachment points, and single conduit hanger support. The dual tapped hole locations — bottom and back — allow installers to route support rods in multiple directions from a single clamp, reducing the need for additional hardware in congested overhead spaces.
Designed for use with threaded rod, bridal rings, and conduit hanger hardware in rigid conduit support systems on structural steel beams with flanges up to 3/4 inch wide.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for conduit support and securing. De-energize any nearby circuits before working in the overhead support area. Position the clamp over the beam flange, thread and seat the set screw by hand, then tighten to the rated 60 inch-pound torque specification using an appropriate hex key or socket. Do not exceed the 200-pound rated load capacity when configuring multi-conduit trapeze assemblies.
