The MILWAUKEE VALVE BA150SA-12 is a 2-piece, full-port ball valve designed for plumbing and mechanical piping systems requiring reliable shutoff and flow control. Built around a 316 stainless steel ball and stem paired with a bronze body, this valve is rated to 600 psi and connects via solder end connections. The RPTFE seat and softgoods provide chemical resistance and long-term sealing integrity. At 2.39 inches inlet to outlet and 1.89 inches top to inlet center, it fits into compact installations without sacrificing performance. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this valve in residential and light commercial water, heating, and fluid-handling systems.
The BA150SA-12 is suited for copper tubing systems where a solder-end shutoff valve is required. Its 1/2-inch nominal size and full-port orifice allow unrestricted flow, minimizing pressure drop across the valve. The lever handle provides quick quarter-turn operation, making it practical for applications where frequent shutoff cycling or service isolation is needed. Typical installations include domestic water supply lines, hydronic heating circuits, and other fluid systems where a compact, high-pressure-rated bronze valve is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation shutoff valve for 1/2-inch copper solder-end piping systems in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic heating applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the system and drain the line before soldering to avoid damaging the RPTFE seat and softgoods from excess heat. Apply heat to the fitting body rather than the valve body itself, and allow the assembly to cool before pressurizing. Verify all connections are leak-free under system pressure before returning the line to service.
