The MILWAUKEE TOOL 48-22-4184 is a 40-foot non-conductive fiberglass fish tape designed for pulling wire and cable through conduit, walls, and other raceway pathways. The round fiberglass tape resists kinking and is rated non-conductive, making it appropriate for work near energized systems where a steel tape would pose a hazard. A low-friction case allows smooth payout and controlled rewind, reducing effort on long pulls. Licensed electricians and wiremen are the primary installers for this tool. The case weighs 1.76 pounds, keeping it manageable during overhead or confined-space runs.
This fish tape is suited for residential and light commercial electrical rough-in work, service upgrades, and retrofit wiring where conduit or stud bays need to be fished. The 40-foot length covers the majority of standard residential wall and ceiling runs. The multi-position handle accommodates different grip angles during both payout and retrieval, which is useful in tight panel rooms or junction boxes. It ships as a single unit with one 40-foot glow fish tape included.
Designed as a general-purpose non-conductive fish tape for use in standard EMT, rigid, and flexible conduit systems typical of residential and light commercial electrical installations.
A licensed electrician should verify that all circuits in the work area are de-energized and locked out before fishing tape through any conduit or wall cavity near existing wiring. While this tape is non-conductive fiberglass, NEC best practices still require confirmation of a de-energized environment before any tape insertion. Feed the tape slowly through conduit bends to prevent the tip from catching on fittings, and use appropriate pulling lubricant on longer or more complex runs to reduce drag.
