The Milwaukee Tool 48-22-4179 is a flexible metal leader accessory designed for use with Milwaukee steel fish tapes. This leader attaches to the end of a steel fish tape to improve navigation through conduit runs, wall cavities, and other tight routing paths. Its flexible metal construction allows it to bend around corners and obstacles that a rigid tape end cannot negotiate cleanly. Electricians and low-voltage installers use this type of leader to reduce hang-ups during wire pulls and to extend the useful life of the tape by absorbing wear at the leading end. The unit ships individually and is ready to install directly out of the package.
This flexible metal leader is suited for residential and commercial electrical work wherever Milwaukee steel fish tapes are in use. It is compatible with Milwaukee steel fish tapes in 25-foot, 50-foot, 120-foot, and 240-foot lengths. Typical applications include conduit fishing in finished walls, above drop ceilings, through electrical panels, and in other confined routing scenarios where a rigid tape end creates resistance or binds.
Designed for use with Milwaukee steel fish tapes in 25-foot, 50-foot, 120-foot, and 240-foot lengths.
This accessory is installed by licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians as part of fish tape maintenance or setup. Before attaching or removing the leader, ensure the fish tape is fully retracted and the reel is secured. Follow the attachment method specified for the tape model in use. Always inspect the leader and the tape connection point for wear or deformation before each use.
