The MILWAUKEE TOOL 48-20-8026 is a carbide-tipped SDS-Plus rotary hammer drill bit designed for use in SDS-Plus rotary hammer tools. Built around a 6mm diameter with a spear-point cutting geometry, it drives through masonry, concrete, and similar hard substrates with consistent performance. The usable flute length measures 250mm (approximately 9.84 inches) and the overall length is 310mm (approximately 12.2 inches), giving technicians and tradespeople adequate reach for both shallow anchor holes and deeper penetrations. The carbide tip resists wear during high-impact percussion drilling, making it a practical choice for electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors who regularly drill into concrete or block.
This bit is suited for residential and light commercial applications where SDS-Plus rotary hammers are the standard tool. Typical use cases include setting anchor bolts, drilling conduit penetrations through masonry walls, installing pipe hangers in concrete decks, and boring holes for electrical rough-in work in block or poured-concrete construction. The 6mm diameter is a common size for small-diameter anchors and toggle bolts used across multiple trades.
Designed for use with SDS-Plus rotary hammer tools. The SDS-Plus shank is an industry-standard interface compatible with SDS-Plus chucks across most major rotary hammer brands in that category.
Installation is performed by licensed tradespeople or qualified mechanics using an SDS-Plus rotary hammer set to hammer-drill mode. Always wear eye protection and dust control measures when drilling masonry, as concrete dust contains respirable silica. Confirm the drill path is clear of embedded rebar, conduit, or utilities before starting. Do not use this bit in a standard keyless or keyed drill chuck — SDS-Plus bits require an SDS-Plus chuck to lock and release properly.
