The MILWAUKEE TOOL 45-34-4001 is a standard hand socket designed for 1/4 inch square drive ratchets and extensions. It features a 6-point contact geometry that delivers full engagement on fastener flats, reducing the risk of rounding under load. The chrome finish provides corrosion resistance for long service life in shop and field conditions. Sized to the metric system of measurement, this socket is a compact, lightweight hand tool used by electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general trade professionals for fastener installation and removal on mechanical equipment, panels, and fixtures.
This socket is suited for residential and light commercial service work where a 1/4 inch drive is the appropriate torque range. Its standard length profile fits most inline ratchet handles and drive extensions. The compact form factor is well suited for work in tight spaces around equipment enclosures, junction boxes, and mechanical assemblies. Packaged as a single unit, it is commonly purchased as a direct replacement or to fill out an existing socket set.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch square drive hand socket compatible with 1/4 inch drive ratchets, extensions, and drive tools sized to accept square drive accessories.
Install and remove using a 1/4 inch drive ratchet or torque wrench rated for the fastener application. De-energize or lock out any equipment before servicing fasteners on electrical enclosures or mechanical systems per applicable NFPA 70E and OSHA lockout/tagout requirements. Inspect the socket for cracks or wear before each use and replace if drive engagement shows signs of damage.
