The Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp 105 is a 2-pack of solid brass stair gauges designed for use with framing and rafter squares in stairway and roof framing applications. Each gauge attaches securely to the edge of a compatible framing square, allowing carpenters and framing contractors to set a fixed reference point for repeated angle cuts on rafters, stringers, and stair components. The solid brass construction provides the strength and corrosion resistance needed for jobsite durability. Sure-grip thumb screws lock each gauge firmly in place, keeping the setup consistent across multiple cuts without the gauge shifting during use.
These stair gauges are intended for residential and light commercial framing work where consistent, repeatable layout cuts are required. Common applications include cutting stair stringers to a uniform rise-and-run profile, laying out rafter cuts at a fixed pitch, and any framing task that demands the same angle repeated across multiple pieces of dimensional lumber. The gauges are sized at 3/4 inches and are designed to work with Empire framing and rafter squares for accurate, efficient layout work on the jobsite.

Stair gauges are attached and adjusted by hand using the integrated thumb screws — no additional tools are required for mounting to the square. Position each gauge at the desired layout mark on the square before tightening. Always verify gauge placement against a known reference angle before beginning a run of repeated cuts. Handle with care on the framing square edge to avoid marring the square's graduated markings.
