The MILWAUKEE 86625 is a Thermomelt temperature indicating stick designed to give tradespeople a fast, accurate, and low-cost method for checking surface temperatures during high-heat operations. When the stick is applied to a surface, the initial mark appears dull and chalky. Once the rated temperature is reached, the mark melts to a glossy, transparent liquid — providing a clear, unmistakable visual indication. The 86625 is rated to a maximum temperature of 300 degrees F and is accurate to within plus or minus 1 percent of the Fahrenheit rated temperature and plus or minus 3 percent of the Celsius rated temperature. The stick is 33 percent larger than previous designs, extending its service life without sacrificing the reliability the Thermomelt line is known for. Made in the USA.
Temperature indicating sticks like the 86625 are used across metalworking and fabrication environments where surface temperature must be confirmed before, during, or after a process. Typical applications include annealing, forging, welding, bending, and forming operations. Welders, pipefitters, ironworkers, and fabrication technicians are the primary users. The visual melt indicator requires no electrical equipment, batteries, or calibration, making it practical on the job site and in the shop.
Designed for use on metal surfaces in annealing, forging, welding, bending, forming, and general fabrication applications where surface temperature verification is required.
Temperature indicating sticks are a consumable tool, not a fixed installation. Apply the stick directly to the work surface prior to or during heating. Allow the marked area to be visible throughout the heating process so the melt transition is not missed. Keep sticks stored away from heat sources to prevent premature activation or degradation.
