The MILWAUKEE 80355 is a wax-based, lead-free lumber crayon used for marking and layout on job-site materials across a wide range of trades. Also known as layout chalk or keel, this crayon lays down a highly visible blue line on rough and smooth surfaces alike. The standard half-inch hex body profile keeps it seated firmly in compatible holders without spinning. It is well suited for carpenters, ironworkers, concrete finishers, and general contractors who need a fast, reliable marking tool that holds up in field conditions.
This crayon is designed for use on cardboard, ceramics, concrete, lumber, metal, paper, plastic, and rubber surfaces, making it a versatile option across framing, mechanical rough-in, and structural steel work. The wax-based formula resists smearing on porous and non-porous substrates and remains legible under typical job-site handling. It is sold in a dozen-count pack, making it a practical stocking item for supply houses and tool cribs serving active crews.
The half-inch hex profile fits the 109 Peterson holder, the 106 holder, and the 108 holder. Designed as a standard keel-style lumber crayon compatible with common hex-body crayon holders used in carpentry, ironwork, and concrete marking applications.
No tools or power shutdown is required to place this crayon into a compatible holder. Insert the crayon into the hex-body holder and advance as the tip wears. Store in a cool location to prevent softening of the wax tip in high-temperature environments. Dispose of spent crayons according to local waste guidelines.
