The MILWAUKEE 80353 is a wax-based, lead-free lumber crayon designed for marking on a wide range of job-site materials. Also known as layout chalk or keel, this crayon features a standard 1/2-inch hexagonal shape that locks into compatible holders for secure, controlled marking. The black formula delivers high-contrast marks on rough and smooth surfaces alike. Sold by the dozen, these crayons are a staple consumable for carpenters, framers, ironworkers, pipefitters, and other trade professionals who need reliable, legible marks under demanding conditions.
The 80353 is built for use on cardboard, ceramics, concrete, lumber, metal, paper, plastic, and rubber. This makes it well-suited for framing layouts, structural steel marking, precast concrete work, pipe fabrication, and general job-site staging. The hex body prevents rolling on angled or sloped surfaces. The standard 1/2-inch hex profile fits the Peterson 109 holder, the 106 holder, and the 108 holder, allowing use with existing holder inventory on the job.
The standard 1/2-inch hex shape is compatible with the Peterson 109 holder, the 106 holder, and the 108 holder.
No tools or power shutdown required for crayon replacement in handheld holders. When inserting into a holder, ensure the hex faces seat fully before applying pressure to avoid crayon breakage. Store in a cool, dry location to prevent softening of the wax body in high-temperature environments.
