The MILWAUKEE 49-59-4100 is a tungsten carbide tipped (TCT) annular cutter designed for cutting clean, accurate holes in hard metal materials. It features a 1-inch cutting diameter and a 3.65-inch cutting length. The advanced tooth geometry cuts, cleans, and clears chips simultaneously during drilling, reducing heat buildup and extending cutter life. A thin-wall design displaces less material than standard twist drills, resulting in faster hole completion and burr-free finishes. The 3/4-inch Weldon shank fits most small and large magnetic drill presses with the appropriate arbor. Licensed trades and metalworkers rely on this cutter for structural steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications.
This cutter is suited for use in demanding hard metal applications including stainless steel and cast iron where standard high-speed steel (HSS) cutters struggle with premature wear. It is commonly used by ironworkers, mechanical contractors, and fabricators working with structural steel, pipe flanges, and heavy plate. The cutter is compatible with magnetic drill presses that accept a 3/4-inch Weldon shank, as well as larger magnetic drills when used with the appropriate arbor adapter. The ejector pin 49-59-0014 is recommended for use with this cutter to assist slug removal.
Designed for use with magnetic drill presses that accept a 3/4-inch Weldon shank. Large magnetic drill presses require the correct arbor adapter. Use ejector pin 49-59-0014 for slug ejection during drilling operations.
Installation and use should be performed by trained metalworkers or qualified tradespeople familiar with magnetic drill press operation. Ensure the drill press is fully powered down and the cutter is securely seated and locked in the Weldon shank arbor before operation. Always secure the workpiece and confirm the magnetic base has proper holding force on the work surface before drilling. Apply cutting fluid when drilling stainless steel or cast iron to manage heat and extend cutter life.
