The MILWAUKEE 49-59-4056 is a tungsten carbide tipped (TCT) annular cutter designed for drilling fast, clean holes in hard metal materials. The advanced tooth geometry cuts, cleans, and clears chips simultaneously during drilling, reducing heat buildup and extending cutter life. The thin-wall design displaces less material than standard twist drills or competing annular cutters, resulting in faster hole completion and burr-free edges. The cutter features a 3/4 inch Weldon shank, making it compatible with most small and large magnetic drill presses when used with the appropriate arbor. It is sold individually and weighs 0.2 pounds.
This cutter is suited for trade professionals working in structural steel fabrication, ironwork, mechanical contracting, and industrial maintenance where hard metal drilling is required. Targeted applications include stainless steel and cast iron, materials that typically shorten the life of standard HSS cutters. The 9/16 inch diameter and 3.65 inch cutting length cover a range of through-hole and deep-reach drilling tasks on plate, pipe, and structural members. The use pin 49-59-0013 is recommended for slug ejection during operation.
Designed for use with magnetic drill presses accepting a 3/4 inch Weldon shank. Large magnetic drill presses require the correct arbor adapter for proper fitment.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified metalworker or licensed trade professional familiar with magnetic drill press equipment. Secure the workpiece firmly and ensure the magnetic drill base has full surface contact before energizing. Inspect the Weldon shank and arbor for wear or damage before each use, and never exceed the drill press manufacturer's rated RPM for the selected cutter diameter. Use cutting fluid appropriate for the base material to extend cutter life and maintain hole quality.
