The MILWAUKEE 49-59-3081 is a tungsten carbide tipped (TCT) annular cutter designed for fast, clean hole-cutting in hard metal materials. Engineered with an advanced tooth geometry, the cutter simultaneously cuts, cleans, and clears debris during the drilling cycle. This reduces heat buildup and chip loading, which extends cutter life and delivers burr-free holes in demanding materials including stainless steel and cast iron. The 13/16 inch cutting diameter and 2.92 inch cutting depth make it well suited for deep-hole applications in structural and fabrication work. It is installed and operated by industrial maintenance technicians, ironworkers, pipefitters, and metal fabricators using magnetic drill presses.
This annular cutter is intended for hard metal applications in both industrial and commercial environments. The thin-wall design removes less material than a standard twist drill for the same hole size, increasing cutting speed and reducing motor load on the magnetic drill press. The 3/4 inch Weldon shank is compatible with most small and large magnetic drill presses when used with the appropriate arbor. For pilot pin use, Milwaukee specifies pin 49-59-0016. Typical applications include structural steel fabrication, pipe fitting, rail work, and heavy equipment maintenance where clean, accurate holes in hard ferrous metals are required.
Designed for use with most small magnetic drill presses and large magnetic drill presses equipped with the correct arbor accepting a 3/4 inch Weldon shank. Pilot pin 49-59-0016 is specified for use with this cutter.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified metal fabricators or maintenance technicians familiar with magnetic drill press equipment. Before changing or seating the cutter, ensure the magnetic drill press is fully powered off and the magnet is disengaged. Secure the Weldon shank properly in the arbor chuck and verify the pilot pin is seated before beginning the cut. Follow applicable OSHA and shop safety standards for rotating cutting tools, including use of appropriate cutting fluid for hard metal applications.
