The MILWAUKEE 49-57-8213 is a carbide-tipped annular cutter designed for quick-change arbor systems used in sheet plate applications. The cutter features a 1-1/16 inch diameter and a 1/2 inch cutting depth, delivering drill press quality holes even in handheld operations. Carbide tipping keeps the cutting edge sharper longer than high speed steel or bi-metal hole saws, reducing downtime between jobs. The stainless steel quick-change shank allows fast bit swaps without additional tooling. This cutter is suited for licensed tradespeople and skilled professionals working with steel plate in fabrication, structural, or mechanical applications.
This annular cutter is specifically designed for handheld use in materials up to 3/8 inch thick. For materials exceeding 3/8 inch in thickness, up to the maximum 1/2 inch cutting depth, use on a drill press is recommended to maintain hole quality and operator safety. When cutting depth exceeds 1/4 inch, Hawg Wash cutting fluid (available separately as Milwaukee 49-32-0081, 16 oz. bottle yielding one gallon of lubricating solution) should be applied to keep the cutting surface cool and properly lubricated.
Designed for use with the Milwaukee quick-change arbor 49-57-0035. Intended for handheld drilling operations in steel plate materials up to 3/8 inch thick, with drill press use recommended for material thickness between 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with metal cutting operations and applicable safety standards. Ensure the tool and workpiece are secured before beginning any cutting operation, and disconnect power before changing cutters. When cutting depth exceeds 1/4 inch, apply an appropriate cutting fluid such as Hawg Wash to prevent heat buildup and extend cutter life. Always follow the tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable OSHA safety requirements for metalworking operations.
