The MILWAUKEE 49-57-8211 is a carbide-tipped annular cutter designed for steel plate cutting in hand-held drill operations. The carbide tip stays sharper longer than high speed steel or bi-metal hole saws, delivering drill press quality holes even when used handheld. It features a stainless steel quick-change shank compatible with the Quick Change Arbor system. The cutter handles material up to 3/8 inches thick in handheld use and cuts to a maximum depth of 1/2 inch. Licensed tradespeople and metalworkers performing structural or fabrication work will find this cutter suited to field conditions where a stationary drill press is not practical.
This annular cutter is intended for use in steel plate and similar ferrous materials. Handheld cutting is rated for material thickness up to 3/8 inches. For material thickness over 3/8 inches, up to the full 1/2 inch cutting depth, a drill press setup is recommended for best results. When cutting depth exceeds 1/4 inch, use of Hawg Wash cutting fluid is recommended to keep the cutting surface cool and lubricated. Hawg Wash fluid is available in 16 oz. bottles, with one bottle yielding one gallon of lubricating solution.
Designed for use with the MILWAUKEE Quick Change Arbor 49-57-0035. Suitable for handheld cutting operations in steel plate up to 3/8 inches thick and drill press operations up to 1/2 inch cutting depth.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with metal cutting operations. Always power down and disconnect the drill before changing cutters. Secure the arbor connection fully before beginning any cut, and verify the quick-change shank is locked in place. When cutting depth exceeds 1/4 inch, apply appropriate cutting fluid to prevent overheating the carbide tip.
