The MILWAUKEE 49-57-6000 is a threaded Steel Hawg annular cutter designed for fast, clean hole cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. With carbide teeth and an alternating tooth form geometry, this cutter removes material up to 3 times faster than standard twist drill bits and reaches a maximum hole depth of 2 inches. A spring-loaded, self-ejecting pin serves as both a centering pin and plug ejector, improving cut accuracy and reducing downtime between holes. Licensed electricians, ironworkers, and mechanical contractors working with structural steel or heavy plate rely on this type of cutter for production-rate drilling in the field or shop.
The 49-57-6000 cuts steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. It is built for use with most electromagnetic drill presses. For Milwaukee magnetic drill press model 4262-1, pair this cutter with arbor 49-57-0030. For Milwaukee magnetic drill press model 4292-1, use arbor 49-57-0010. The M18 x 1.5 metric thread shank also accepts a No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010. The 6-inch cutting diameter makes this cutter suitable for large-diameter knockout and through-hole applications in structural and fabrication work.
Compatible with Milwaukee magnetic drill press model 4262-1 using arbor 49-57-0030, and with Milwaukee magnetic drill press model 4292-1 using arbor 49-57-0010. Also compatible with most electromagnetic drill presses via No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010.
Installation and operation of annular cutters in electromagnetic drill presses should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with magnetic base drill equipment. Always de-energize and secure the mag drill base before changing cutters, and confirm the arbor is fully seated and locked before operation. Verify workpiece is clean and free of coatings at the mag drill contact point to ensure proper magnetic adhesion. Follow all applicable OSHA and site safety requirements when drilling overhead or in confined spaces.
