The MILWAUKEE 49-57-4500 is a threaded Steel Hawg annular cutter designed for fast, clean hole-cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. At 4.5 inches in diameter with a 2-inch cutting depth, this cutter uses carbide teeth arranged in an alternating tooth form geometry to cut through steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum significantly faster than conventional twist drill bits. The M18 x 1.5 metric threaded shank mates with compatible arbors for use on electromagnetic drill presses. Licensed electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors reach for this tool when they need precise, burr-minimal holes in structural or sheet metal.
This cutter is built for trade applications where speed and hole quality both matter. The alternating cutting pattern reduces heat buildup and extends tool life in demanding production or field environments. A spring-loaded, self-ejecting centering pin keeps the cutter on target at the start of each cut and ejects the slug automatically after breakthrough, reducing cycle time. Typical applications include panel knockouts, conduit penetrations, pipe hangers, and structural steel fabrication where repeated large-diameter holes are required.
Compatible with arbor 49-57-0030 on the Milwaukee 4262-1 magnetic drill press and arbor 49-57-0010 on the Milwaukee 4292-1 mag press. Also compatible with a No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010. Works with most electromagnetic drill presses accepting the M18 x 1.5 threaded shank.
Annular cutters of this type are installed and serviced by licensed electricians, pipefitters, ironworkers, or mechanical contractors familiar with magnetic drill press operation. Before changing cutters, ensure the magnetic drill press is fully powered down and the base magnet is disengaged. Secure the workpiece to prevent movement during cutting, and use cutting fluid on the cutter to manage heat and extend tool life. Follow all applicable OSHA and site safety requirements when working with magnetic drill presses at elevation or near energized equipment.
