The MILWAUKEE 49-57-3500 is a threaded steel annular cutter designed for use in electromagnetic and magnetic drill presses. The cutter features carbide teeth arranged in an alternating cutting pattern that reduces cutting time compared to standard twist drill bits. It produces holes up to 2 inches deep in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. A spring-loaded, self-ejecting center pin doubles as a centering pin for accurate hole placement and ejects the plug quickly after each cut. The M18 x 1.5 shank provides a secure threaded connection to compatible arbors.
This cutter is suited for fabrication shops, ironworkers, pipefitters, electricians, and mechanical contractors who regularly drill large-diameter holes through structural steel, plate, pipe, and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 3.5-inch diameter makes it appropriate for heavy structural work and conduit or pipe penetrations where precise, clean holes are required. It is sold as a single unit and is intended for professional trade use with electromagnetic drill press systems.
Compatible with electromagnetic drill presses using threaded arbor connections. For use with arbor 49-57-0030 on Milwaukee 4262-1 magnetic drill press or arbor 49-57-0010 on Milwaukee 4292-1 magnetic drill press. Also compatible with a No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010. Fits most electromagnetic drill presses that accept threaded annular cutter shanks.
Installation and use of annular cutters should be performed by qualified trades personnel familiar with magnetic drill press operation. Ensure the drill press is powered down and the magnetic base is disengaged before changing or seating the cutter. Verify the arbor thread engagement is fully secured before operation. Follow applicable OSHA and site safety requirements when drilling overhead or in confined structural spaces.
