The MILWAUKEE 49-57-3120 is a threaded Steel Hawg annular cutter designed for high-speed hole cutting in metal. It uses carbide teeth arranged in an alternating cutting pattern to cut through steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum at up to 3 times the speed of a standard twist drill bit. The cutter produces holes up to 2 inches deep and has a 3-1/8 inch cutting diameter. The shank uses an M18 x 1.5 metric thread. A spring-loaded, self-ejecting pilot pin serves as both a centering guide and a plug ejector, improving cut accuracy and cycle time. Designed for use with electromagnetic drill presses.
This annular cutter is suited for structural steel fabrication, mechanical and electrical contractors, ironworkers, and pipefitters who need clean, full-diameter holes in heavy metal plate or structural members. The cutter is compatible with Milwaukee magnetic drill presses including the 4262-1 using arbor 49-57-0030 and the 4292-1 using arbor 49-57-0010. It also accepts a No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010, extending compatibility to most standard electromagnetic drill press setups on the job site or in the shop.
Compatible with Milwaukee 4262-1 magnetic drill press using arbor 49-57-0030, Milwaukee 4292-1 magnetic drill press using arbor 49-57-0010, and most electromagnetic drill presses accepting a No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010.
Installation is performed by electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors using an electromagnetic drill press. Secure the drill press to the work surface with the magnetic base before operation and verify the workpiece is clean and flat for proper magnetic contact. Apply cutting fluid to the cutter and workpiece to extend tool life and improve cut quality. Always follow the drill press manufacturer's operating procedures and applicable OSHA guidelines for magnetic drill press use.
