The MILWAUKEE 49-57-2870 is a threaded Steel Hawg annular cutter designed for cutting clean, accurate holes in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The cutter features carbide teeth in an alternating tooth form pattern that removes material up to 3 times faster than standard twist drill bits. Maximum hole depth is 2 inches, with a 2 7/8 inch cut diameter. The M18 x 1.5 metric threaded shank connects to compatible arbors for use on electromagnetic drill presses. A spring-loaded, self-ejecting centering pin improves hole accuracy and speeds plug removal. Licensed electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors use this cutter for structural steel and enclosure work.
This annular cutter is sized for applications requiring a 2 7/8 inch diameter hole through ferrous and non-ferrous metals up to 2 inches thick. It is compatible with Milwaukee arbor 49-57-0030 for use on the Milwaukee 4262-1 magnetic drill press and with arbor 49-57-0010 for the Milwaukee 4292-1 mag press. It also accepts a No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010. Typical applications include cutting knockouts in electrical panels, structural steel fabrication, pipe penetrations, and metal enclosure work in commercial and industrial settings.
Compatible with Milwaukee arbor 49-57-0030 on the Milwaukee 4262-1 magnetic drill press, arbor 49-57-0010 on the Milwaukee 4292-1 mag press, and No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010. Works with most electromagnetic drill presses accepting an M18 x 1.5 threaded shank.
Installation is performed by electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, and sheet metal workers using an electromagnetic or mag-base drill press. Secure the workpiece and verify the mag base is fully engaged before starting the cut. Apply cutting oil to extend cutter life and improve hole quality when cutting ferrous metals. Never use this cutter with a standard rotary drill or without a properly rated arbor assembly.
