The MILWAUKEE 49-57-2370 is a threaded Steel Hawg annular cutter designed for fast, clean hole-cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It cuts a 2-3/8 inch diameter hole up to 2 inches deep in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. Carbide teeth with an alternating tooth form geometry allow this cutter to drill holes significantly faster than conventional twist drill bits. A spring-loaded, self-ejecting pilot pin serves dual purpose: it centers the cutter on the workpiece at the start of the cut and ejects the slug automatically when the cut is complete. The shank uses an M18 x 1.5 metric thread. Licensed electricians, ironworkers, mechanical contractors, and general trade professionals install this cutter with a compatible magnetic drill press.
This annular cutter is suited for structural steel fabrication, electrical conduit work, HVAC ductwork framing, and mechanical piping layout where clean, burr-minimal holes are required in metal plate or structural members. It mounts to most electromagnetic drill presses that accept a threaded M18 x 1.5 shank or a No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly. Per the manufacturer, use arbor 49-57-0030 with the Milwaukee 4262-1 magnetic drill press, or arbor 49-57-0010 with the Milwaukee 4292-1 mag press. The alternating cutting geometry reduces cutting force and heat buildup, which extends cutter life and keeps holes dimensionally accurate across repeated use.
Compatible with Milwaukee 4262-1 magnetic drill press using arbor 49-57-0030, and with Milwaukee 4292-1 magnetic drill press using arbor 49-57-0010. Also compatible with No. 3 Morse taper arbor assembly 49-57-0010. Fits most electromagnetic drill presses accepting an M18 x 1.5 threaded shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified trade professional familiar with magnetic drill press equipment. Secure the magnetic drill press base fully to the workpiece before beginning the cut, and verify the pilot pin is properly seated in the center-punch mark before applying feed pressure. Inspect the arbor threads and cutter shank for debris or damage before each use. Always disconnect the drill press from power before changing cutters.
