The MILWAUKEE 49-57-1939 is a quick change tang drive Steel Hawg annular cutter designed for fast, clean hole cutting in metal. It cuts a 1-15/16 inch diameter hole up to 1 inch deep in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. Carbide teeth with an alternating cutting pattern accelerate material removal and extend tool life compared to standard high-speed steel cutters. The self-ejecting, spring-loaded centering pin simplifies plug removal and aids in accurate positioning. This cutter is installed and used by electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, and millwrights who need repeatable hole accuracy without pre-punching or pilot holes.
The 49-57-1939 is suited for structural steel fabrication, electrical rough-in, and mechanical piping layout where precise, burr-minimized holes are required in ferrous and non-ferrous plate or structural members. It is compatible with most electromagnetic drill presses using a standard quick change tang drive interface. For use with Milwaukee magnetic drill presses, pair it with arbor 49-57-0012 or 49-57-0013 on the 4292-1 or 4297-1 mag press, or arbor 49-57-0032 on the 4262-1 mag press. The ream-like finish reduces secondary deburring time on the job site.
Compatible with most electromagnetic drill presses using a quick change tang drive. For Milwaukee mag drill presses: use arbor 49-57-0012 or 49-57-0013 with the 4292-1 or 4297-1, and arbor 49-57-0032 with the 4262-1.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with magnetic drill press setup and annular cutter safety practices. Secure the electromagnetic drill press base firmly to the workpiece before starting the cut and verify that the arbor and cutter are fully seated and locked before applying power. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye and face protection when cutting metal. Disengage and de-energize the drill press before changing cutters or clearing swarf.
